The LOKAHI Giving Project is part of a unique partnership between Hawaii's number one news station, KHON2, and the family-strengthening non-profit organization Keiki O Ka Aina Family Learning Centers.
About LOKAHI

Since its inception in 1985 by newscaster Leslie Wilcox and social services director Mariellen Jones, Lokahi has been helping Hawaii's struggling families by providing them with life's basic necessities, year round emergency assistance, and brighter holiday seasons.

LOKAHI lends a hand-up to those who are facing life crises or emergency situations beyond their control. Lokahi helps the struggling 'gap group', the working poor who are not qualified for assistance from any other programs.

LOKAHI works hand-in-hand with over 200 non-profit agencies, shelters, group homes, hospitals, churches, and schools to verify and meet the needs of the most deserving families and individuals.

Keiki O Ka Aina has been working closely with LOKAHI for several years and is committed to supporting the vision and goals of LOKAHI through Keiki O Ka Aina's efforts to build strong communities by building strong families.
Lokahi Adopt A Family Program

We match a wide range of individual donors as well as social groups, businesses, and schools who wish to share the LOKAHI spirit with families, seniors, teens, children with special needs, or groups who really need some holiday cheer and basic necessities. Non-profits, group homes, shelters and hospitals refer their most deserving clients to participate in this program. Everyone can find a way to help that meets their resources and desire to help.
